Responsibilities:
Assist in scouting for pests, diseases, weeds, nutrition, and moisture management Report all findings to Plant Health Foreperson.
Apply pesticides and herbicides as directed by Plant Health Foreperson.
Keep and maintain detailed treatment records.
Keep a small crew of applicators on task and report progress.
Keep pesticide storage, mixing and loading areas clean and safe for all workers.
Clean and maintain application equipment in good functionality.
Report any application equipment trouble to supervisor or maintenance personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
2-year degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
Ability to obtain a MN non-commercial pesticide applicator license.
Bilingual (Spanish/English or Karen/English) helpful.
Ability to operate small and large farm equipment.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays if needed.
Have a valid driver's license with a clear driving record.
Must have an excellent work ethic.
Must take and pass employer paid pre-employment drug test and background check.
